We are excited about Braiding! We teach all kinds of braiding and provide kits and supplies.
Have a good look around and email me for more information and UK, EU or Canadian prices.
The Berlin main event back in March 2020 was leaving the UK and moving to Nanaimo, British Columbia for good. Little did we know that we would arrive as Lockdown was announced and that 2+ years would pass with so many limitations.
The workshop is fully functioning and Peter has found some 13" wide walnut boards which have made larger than usual marudais. He made three in purple heart as well. Yum!
An exciting development and ticking a Bucket List box for me, was being accepted as a member of Artisans' Studio, a co-op gallery/shop here in Nanaimo. Members work a few days each month in the shop so I have been learning a lot with the help of colleagues. I sold my first necklace to a very kind (and discerning!) lady from New York. It was very satisfying for this more-of-a-teacher than a "maker".
Coming up in 2023
ANWG happened in June in Bend, Oregon. It was wonderfully well-organized and a great time was had by all. BerlinBraids had a vendors booth and really enjoyed meeting people again - old and new friends. We shared the booth with Ruth MacGregor of Spinning Forth with many memories of great gigs in England and Ireland.
Conference of Northern California Handweavers at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo will be held August 4 - 6. This meeting is like a retreat with 2 1/2 days of classes. I'll be teaching "Making Friends with your Marudai". It will be fun for sure!
